Jan Amos Comenius University in Prague is the first private university in the Czech Republic to obtain university status. Over time, the pillars of its social science courses and programs have become Special Education, Adult Education, Andragogy, European Economic Studies, Social and Media Communications, Business Law, Management Studies and Stage and Media Studies. The latest bachelor's degree programs include International Relations and Diplomacy, Resocialization and Penitentiary Pedagogy, and Special Education. UJAK has long offered the opportunity to study in full-time and part-time form.
Jan Amos Comenius University Ltd. was originally established as the Jan Amos Comenius University Ltd. in 2001 on the basis of state approval and accreditation of the first study program and field. In 2006, after the accreditation of the doctoral study program, it became a university-type university and was renamed the Jan Amos Comenius University in Prague Ltd. UJAK thus became the first private university in the Czech Republic.
